In our continuous work to advance the transportation sector in the Bahamas we launched a traffic information system geared toward providing real time traffic information on serious accidents, road closures, traffic hot-spots and other road conditions which affect commuting, to taxi drivers.
The implementation of the Public Transit Connectivity Project an effort aiming to bring the Bahamas in-line with advanced global trends to deliver connectivity to all aspects of daily lives.
Ridebahamas Digital is of the position that it is paramount to introduce best practice and educate the drivers on how these systems would work and how they will be able to aces them. Further, we will be able by way of our ICT system to communicate;
- New Road Traffic policy initiatives,
- Cruise ship port information,
- Major road closure
- Airport related information and much more
- Met Office regular weather update
- Current gas prices
The first phase of this effort was successfully rolled out recently at Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau, British Colonial Hilton taxi stands recreation room, and Atlantis Taxi Stands Paradise Island. We are seeking to achieve the same at Cable Beach taxi stands. To communicate the information to the drivers we are using 16’ monitors with android systems connected wirelessly to a specific independent network supplied by Aliv. They are engaged to deliver the level of information that will assist drivers in their daily work.
